Fifteen year old Robyn Sheldrake is a special friend of the school. When she heard that the school was fundraising for building she put aside a small amount of money each week from her after school job, until she reached her goal of $100. She is now challenging 5999 others to join her to do the same or better.
The target of $600,000 may seem a tall order for a 15 year old, but Robyn sees it as a project with a challenge.
The concept is to find people or businesses who will sponsor the School by donating $100 - in return the School will include the donors name, greeting or message on individual tiles that will be fixed to a specially built wall.
This will be a permanent record of their help - imagine the encouragement for the children as they walk to school past a wall of messages from people who cared enough to help. A certificate will also be forwarded with thanks from the trustees, the Principal and Robyn. The donors plaques will be added to the Sonrise Christian School Robyn's Challenge Website for all to see.
Robyn will be taking a particular interest in the Website as the Internet and computers are one of her favourite pastimes and she is keen to develop her passion for Graphic Art.
