Attendance
Students are required to attend school each day that school is open unless they are ill or have gained leave from the Principal. Parents are asked to telephone the school in the morning of any absence due to illness. School hours of tuition are from 8.45 am to 2.45 pm.

School Uniform
School uniform is compulsory for all students. The girls' uniform consists of lemon poloshirt and navy pinafore for summer and lemon skivvies and trackpants or pinafore for winter. Years 7 & 8 girls may wear a regulation navy skirt rather than the pinafore. The boys wear navy shorts with the lemon polo for summer and navy trackpants for winter. A navy sweatshirt with school logo, black shoes or sandals, and girls' PE shorts complete the uniform. Jewellery is not permitted apart from a wristwatch and a single plain stud or keeper in pierced ears. Long hair must be neatly tied back. Extravagant or unusual hairstyles are not permitted. No makeup or coloured nail polish is to be worn.

Fees and Dues
Attendance dues are payable to the Proprietors by all students attending Sonrise Christian School. At present the school is not charging an activity fee, however parents may be asked to pay for trips and extra activities from time to time.

Textbooks, Class Materials
Students are provided with all necessary textbooks. These books remain the property of the school and are issued on the understanding that they will be cared for and that any loss or damage will be paid for.

Stationery
Stationery lists will be provided at the start of each year. The school may hold some stock for issue to pupils who run out of materials. This will be invoiced to parents.

Care of Property
All clothing, bags, lunchboxes etc. brought to school should be clearly named. Children are discouraged from bringing personal items not required for school activities to school. Children are encouraged to develop personal responsibility for their own gear and good stewardship of equipment at the school. Children are expected to take good care of all property at the school and restitution is expected for any equipment wilfully or carelessly damaged.

Reporting to Parents
The School’s purpose is to assist parents fulfil their God given responsibility to train their children, therefore parents are invited to make an appointment at any time during the year to discuss aspects of their child’s progress with the teacher. Regular use of the communication book assists in day-to-day reporting by both home and school. Formal written reports are made twice yearly at the end of terms 2 and 4.

Swimming Tuition
As costs permit, swimming tuition takes place in term one and four.

Technology for Years 7 & 8 Students
Older students attend fortnightly technology classes at Ilminister Intermediate School. This gives them experience with equipment and facilities that Sonrise is not able to provide.

Sporting Opportunities
As well as PE classes, and combined sports days with other small schools, pupils are able to join sports teams with Riverdale Primary and Ilminister Intermediate Schools.
