Sonrise Christian School was established to serve the needs of those families who desire Christ to be at the centre of their children's education, so that the children will come to know that they are part of God's World, and come to their own relationship with their Lord and Saviour.

Over the past 10 years the school has achieved many of its long term goals, in particular opening the new school in July 2002. The school now has beautiful purpose built facilities on spacious grounds. God has been central in this whole process, with our new buildings being built in record time, with no delays for weather, allowing us to complete the project, and meet a crucial Ministry of Education deadline. Just as God was central to the building project, He is central to every aspect of the school. God's ways apply, not only in curriculum, but also in the playground, the interactions in the school, and the management of the school.

It has been a privilege to work alongside the dedicated group of parents, staff and others who established and operate the school.

I commend the school to you. I am confident that you will value the Christ centred dimension brought both to the New Zealand curriculum, and to school life itself.
