Dear Parents/Caregivers
Tena Koutou Katoa
Greetings to you all
As I write this newsletter the sun is shining and the children are playing happily. What a difference it makes!
I have attached a letter from the Education Review Office which gives a summary of their report to our Board of Trustees. The report is excellent and reflects very well on all those involved in the running of the school. The report contains a number of glowing comments which confirm that Sonrise is a great place to have your children.
Emergency Dental Care
If your child needs to see a dental nurse urgently then you can contact Ilminster Intermediate and ask to speak to the Dental Clinic.
Car Park Safety
After school could you please park in one of the designated car parks or on the grass along the road. There have been a number of occasions when cars have stopped in the middle of the car park area and this has caused a problem for the cars behind and confusion for the children being picked up.
School Banking
Banking has resumed and is every Wednesday between 8.00am and 8.40am in the school library.
Head Lice
This menace is still around. It is extremely important for you to check your child’s head for head lice today. Keep checking every 2 days until there are no head lice found for 10 consecutive days. Head lice do not transmit infectious diseases - they are transmitted by having head to head contact with someone who has head lice. You may be reassured that head lice are commonly found in places other than at school. Head lice are common in children aged 3-11 years.
I have attached a brochure which you may find helpful.
