Dear Parents/Caregivers
Tena Koutou Katoa
Greetings to you all
We had just completed our first parent/teacher interviews. Over 80% of parents attended the interviews and this is very pleasing. Well done parents/caregivers! If you had missed the opportunity, you are most welcome to make an appointment to see the teacher at a time that is convenient to you both.
Reminder: Tuesday afternoons are unavailable as we have our staff meetings after school till 5pm.
This Saturday the Board and Staff will be reviewing our Discipline and Behaviour Management Policy and Procedures. As the school is growing and is now a restricted composite school (including years 9 & 10), changes have to be made to our Behaviour Management Policy & Procedures. After our workshop on Saturday, I will be sending home with your child the new discipline procedures. We will also ensure that all our students know what the expectations are and what the consequences will be for not making good choices.
A ‘BIG THANK YOU’ to all our parent helpers who assisted Mr. Russell and Room 2 on their excursion on Monday. With your support, together we can achieve more for our students.
The school newsletters are now online at http://www.sonrise.school.nz/
Strategic Planning Consultation
The Board and Principal have started the strategic direction planning for our school. ‘Thank You’ to all of you who returned the consultation letters. You have until Monday 29 March to return your letters. This will be greatly appreciated. The information will be collated and used to help set the direction for our school. Please be reminded that the Board has the final say in setting goals and direction.
