No. 10/2/10
Dear Parents/Caregivers
Tena Koutou Katoa
Greetings to you all
The Board had just received the unconfirmed report from ERO. Before I can send it out to our community, the Board has the opportunity to peruse it and query any comments.
However, I will highlight a few points from the report:
- Students participate in learning programs that encompass Christian values and attitudes, and the NZ Curriculum.
- The quality of learning in literacy and numeracy is high.
- Most students achieve at or above national expectations in these areas.
- The New Year 9 & 10 class is making sound progress.
- Collated and analysed data are effectively used to identify trends and patterns of achievement, students requiring extra support or extension and for setting strategic targets.
- Information about Maori student achievement is carefully analysed and shows that, as a group, they achieve as well as their non-Maori peers.
- Students receive lessons that are well planned
- Differentiated learning experiences support individual students.
- Students are confident participants in the learning process.
- High expectations are set for all students.
- There is clear understanding and acceptance of guidelines for values and behaviour.
- Learning is collaborative in a supportive environment that allows purposeful engagement.
These are just a few of the comments made in the unconfirmed report.

Poverty Bay Basketball
Congratulations to Drae Calles, Hunter Mokomoko and Jesse Torrey for being selected to represent Poverty Bay U/15 at basketball. They will be traveling to Tauranga for the tournament during the holidays.
This Friday we will not be ordering lunches from the Cake Kitchen as we would like to give these boys and their parents the opportunity to fundraise for their trip. Sporting trips can be quite expensive so would appreciate your support in helping these boys.
Morning tea (cakes and muffins $1.00 each) and lunch (sausage sizzle @ $1.50 each) will be provided by these boys’ parents.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Please return the interview booking slip ASAP if you had not done so yet.
If you can’t make this time, feel free to arrange a time that is convenient for you and the class teacher for a later date.
