Dear Parents/Caregivers
Tena Koutou Katoa
Greetings to you all
At Sonrise we frequently remind our students about L.I.F.E. which underpin many of the conversations we have about living and learning at Sonrise Christian School. Students are working hard and striving for excellence. Relationships among the students are improving all the time.
Today two of our senior boys, Hunter Mokomoko and Jesse Torrey will be participating in the Eastland Secondary Schools Triathlon. THANK YOU to Ju Mokomoko for organising this. Next week is Senior Swimming Sports at the Olympic Pools. Twenty nine students will be participating in this event. Only the swimmers will be going and the rest will have school as per normal.
On a sadder note, our school grounds had again been vandalised over the weekend. It seems as if it is the same person/s using the grounds to spin ‘wheelies’ The surrounding neighbours seem to be totally oblivious to it and maybe the time has now come for us to seriously think about fencing off the grounds.
Strategic Planning Consultation
Please be reminded that the first consultation response had to be returned to school last Thursday. I sent out 55 consultation letters and only 11 were returned. This is a 20% return rate which is not good at all. Three consultation letters altogether will be sent home at different intervals, and we need to hear from you. Letter 2 had been sent out on Monday. Please spend 5-10 minutes to fill this out and give the response to your child to hand to their class teacher. Again, THANK YOU to those parents who promptly responded. We are aiming for a 100% response.
