Sonrise Christian School Newsletter

To be a thriving community, committed to Jesus Christ, committed to excellence in education and committed to service to others - Vision Statement

4th August 2010

No. 3/3/10

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Tena Koutou Katoa

Greetings to you all

The term is now well underway and already we have had a number of visitors. Last Tuesday a small team from the Gideons spoke to the Yr7-10s and gave them each a small Bible. On Monday a group of coaches from Poverty Bay Cricket came and took all the classes through a range of skill building activities. They were very enthusiastic about the children and were very complimentary about their skills and behaviour. Next week we have a team going to the local schools badminton competition and the week after that the Science Road show rolls into town for the older students. We are very blessed to have these opportunities and it is wonderful to see our children responding in such a positive manner.

Punctuality

We do need to teach our children to be punctual for school. This is a very important and necessary life skill as it affects future work prospects and relationships with others. During this cold spell we are noticing more and more students are coming to school after the bell has rung. Students are expected to be at school at least 5 minutes before the bell rings at 8.45am.
