Charitable Status

Because Sonrise Christian School is a State Integrated School of Special Character, it falls to the Proprietors to provide the land and buildings for the school.

The Proprietor for Sonrise Christiain School is the Gisborne Christian Education Trust.

Gisborne Christian Education Trust is a registered Charitable Trust that was formed for the purpose of providing Christian Education to the families of Gisborne.

As a registered charity, donations made to the Trust of $5.00 and over entitle individuals to a tax rebate in accordance with section KC5 of the Income Tax Act 1994

Attendance dues charged by the Trust are not considered donations and therefore cannot be claimed towards donation rebates.
